BOUNCE MESSAGES
If you are trying to send mail and are getting
'bounce' messages - for example: "User Unknown",
the message is being rejected by the recipient's mail
server. The 'bounce' message will tell the sender what
is wrong. If the message says 'user unknown' - the e-mail
address is entered incorrectly or the account has
been closed by the customer's ISP. Check the email address
for correct construction - username@primary.net.
Check for capital letters where there shouldn't
be any. Check the domain name (primary.net),
are you typing .com or .org instead of .net?
RELAY-DENIED MESSAGES
If the sender is getting a 'relay-denied' message when
trying to send e-mail, they are trying to send mail to
someone and using Primary's Mail Server as a relay. This
is not allowed. This is a precaution put in place
to insure that Primary can see where mail originates and
where that mail is finally delivered. If the sender
gets a relay-denied error message, have them check
the outgoing mail server address. If the sender is dialing
and connecting to another ISP besides Primary (perhaps
they are out-of-town and using someone else's ISP to connect
and send/receive mail) , the outgoing (SMTP) mail server
address in the Mail Client's settings must be the guest
ISP's SMTP address (for example: mail.anotherprovider.com).
That way, as mail comes through Primary's server destined
to be delivered to your mailbox Primary knows the
originating point (outside of our domain) as well as the
delivery point (your mailbox).

The POP account:
is carried forward to this screen
The SMTP must be mail.primary.net
small letters only, NO CAPS
The other fields are not necessary, leave blank

This screen can
be left as is using default settings.
If you want to automatically check for mail while you
are logged on doing something else, set a number of minutes
in the "Check for mail every" box.
Be careful with the "Leave mail on server" settings.
If you check this and don't make arrangements to delete
the mail periodically ("delete from server after
X days), the mail will accumulate in Primary's servers
indefinitely. This will eventually cause you problems.
DON'T CHECK "LEAVE MAIL ON SERVER" unless you
absolutely need to. If you do check this box, make sure
to delete the mail from Primary's server occasionally.

Keep the defaults on this
page...
SMTP server must be mail.primary.net (no CAPS)
There are more screens
in Eudora Lite's category list. They are all set for default
settings and you don't need to worry about them.
